Alando

by Eric Jourdan

The special feature of the new desk and sideboard by Eric Jourdan lies in the subtle dynamics created by the contrast between the round tube metal frame and the wooden parts in dark walnut. The midnight-blue round tube towers above the top, and the resulting tension brings out the best in each component.

The desk is reminiscent of the style of furniture from the 1950s, modern and reduced. The frame and the arrangement of the blue lacquered drawers create an asymmetry that makes this desk stand out like ''a picture in a frame''.

The sideboard with its three folding doors conveys a feeling of serenity, thanks to a large, angular top framed by a round tube structure. This makes it easier to show off the decorative objects in the centre of the top.

Here again lies the power of Eric Jourdan's designs. They create a philosophy of life with functional design objects that can be appropriated and that offer many design possibilities.
