Paper Lamp
by René Barba
Born in Havana in 1965, René Barba first studied art in Florida and graduated as an industrial designer from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1994. Since then he has worked as a freelance designer, e.g. for Soca or Koziol, and as a professor of art. He likes to experiment with many materials and use them to design reduced forms.
For Paper Lamp, his first work for Ligne Roset, he uses a special, untearable and flame-resistant fleece as the material for the lampshade. The material in the form of a double-sided cover, plain white on one side and printed on the other, envelops the structure of the lamp. The shade spreads a subdued light and creates a relaxing atmosphere.
Pendant lamp, lampshade fleece, 70 % polyester and 30 % polyamide, flame retardant (French burning class M1). Printed with a bow pattern on the front and back. Cable 150 cm white. Round ceiling fixture (Ø 12 cm, H 2 cm), white satin epoxy lacquer. Bulb LED E14 / 5 W, 2700 K (warm white) included.
