The design studio GamFratesi was founded in 2006 in Copenhagen by the Danish architect Stine Gam and the Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The Italian-Danish couple embodies two exceptional traditions of European design as a kind of magical union between south and north. The Rewrite desk, designed like a bubble, is a real jewel, modern and soft at the same time.
Even if you work at home, you don't necessarily want to make your living room open space. From both an aesthetic and functional point of view, Rewrite, an amazing work cocoon with a hood coated with noise-insulating wool, is perfect for protecting concentration and intimacy. The hood protects against light and filters noise. The high-quality walnut materials and the Divina or Steelcut Trio wool cover from Kvadrat give you a sense of security and safety.
The aesthetic surprise comes from the connection between the familiar and the new: a desk that is traditional in form and material (a simple wooden table), but which, with its hood, eludes any known reference, even proportional.
The cable passage on the table top and the painted metal housing for cables and chargers under the top are functional. So you can withdraw perfectly connected and create your own private space connected to the world. Thanks to the round shape, Rewrite can be placed anywhere in the room, the design was already in the Danish Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen.
