Toa

by Rémi Bouhaniche

Rémi Bouhaniche studied at the Saint-Etienne School of Art and Design, where he was strongly influenced by his professors Eric Jourdan and François Bauchet.

Important for Rémi Bouhaniche is the quality of the projects, in terms of form and content, the consideration of technical possibilities, craftsmanship and the needs of the user, and last but not least the social and economic context.

He first conceived his Toa armchair as a small model in which he placed a trapezoidal cushion, like origami, on a light, base frame. The result is a comfortable and timeless piece of seating furniture in the tradition of the iconic Calin armchair by Ligne Roset, an invitation to relax and slow down.

TOA is dressed either casually with a cotton cover or country-chic with a wool cover or very business-like with a leather skin. It can stand freely in the room next to a side table and a lamp, its design is beautiful to look at from all sides.
