Ursuline

by Pierre Paulin

This desk is named after the Rue des Ursulines in Paris, where Pierre Paulin spent part of his life. In a way, Ursuline is also a wink of the eye towards his ''Desk for Ladies'' CM 193, which Thonet France released in the 50s.

In the Ligne Roset collection, this delicate desk complements the Tanis 1954 / 2008 desk, also by Pierre Paulin, but with a completely different aesthetic and function. The ''masculine'' design of Tanis, with its straight corners and strict finish in walnut and chocolate-brown lacquer, is answered by Ursuline as a feminine counterpoint. The three closed drawers of Tanis give way to open storage compartments in Ursuline.
